Over the years, I’ve tried to read as much small-press fiction as possible and, through the reviews on this site, call attention to those books I’d hate others to miss out on.

Why the focus on small presses? Because despite minimal staffing and limited financial resources, they are publishing a lot of great novels and story collections. And they’re taking chances on new voices and on narratives and subjects that diverge from the mainstream. I hope I’ve contributed, even in a modest way, to their success.
